Step 1: Make the Brown Butter Crust

  1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Continue cooking, swirling often, until it turns golden and smells nutty (about 5–7 min). Remove from heat and cool for 10 minutes.

  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk flour, powdered sugar, and salt.

  3. Stir in the vanilla and browned butter until a soft dough forms.

  4. Press dough evenly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch tart pan. Prick with a fork.

  5. Chill in freezer for 15 minutes.

  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20–22 minutes until golden. Cool completely.

Step 2: Make the Cranberry Filling

  1. In a saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, orange juice, zest, cinnamon, and salt.
